EXMAR strives not only to be one of the world's leading innovative gas storage, transportation and offshore infrastructure asset owners. It also aims to retain and grow its loyal and highly skilled international pool of officers, seafarers and offshore engineers who operate those assets 24/7, 7 days a week. This is led by EXMAR Ship Management, with the full support of the EXMAR Group.
EXMAR actively invests in crew education and closely cooperates with maritime academies around the world, enabling cadets to gain valuable experience on our LPG and LNG fleets as well as accommodation barges and floating regasification units. Many of these cadets have risen through the ranks to become senior officers, serving EXMAR for a long term career.
EXMAR Ship Management employs seafarers from no less than 27 countries around the world. In addition to its longstanding cooperation with the Antwerp Maritime Academy in Belgium, EXMAR actively supports the Caribbean Maritime Training Institute in Jamaica with specialised training by its own EXMAR Academy experts. The company also works closely with the Mapua School and Philcamsat training centre in the Philippines which is now recognised by the Belgian Flag State in terms of training excellence. A number of cadets graduating from these maritime centres of learning are working on board EXMAR vessels and are progressing through the ranks.
